Olubadan: Oba Ladoja Begs Tinubu To Create Ibadan State Before 2027
The newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to create Ibadan state before 2027 general polls.
The proposed Ibadan State is one of the new states suggested in the ongoing constitution amendment before the national assembly.
It will be carver out of the present Oyo State alongside Ibarapa local government areas.
Oba Ladoja, while speaking after receiving the certificate and staff of office as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, said the request remained the priority of every Ibadan indigene.
The new monarch explained that the people of ibadan can't wait to witness the creation of the State.
Dignitaries in attendance at the historic coronation ceremony include President Bola Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Former Governors Ibikunle Amosun and Gbenga Daniel both of Ogun State, Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, political stalwarts.
Traditional rulers in attendance also included the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, Soun of ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, among others.
