2026 Hajj: Ogun Intending Pilgrims To Pay Over N8.5m As Final Fare
The Intending Pilgrims from Ogun State are to pay the sum of
about N8.6 million as the final fare for the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The figure, according to Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare
Board (OGMPWB), followed the directive of the National Hajj Commission of
Nigeria (NAHCON).
State’s Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Ajibola
Taiwo, in a statement, said the figure was agreed during the NAHCON
consultations with key stakeholders, including the Forum of States’ leadership,
and with the approval of the Federal Government.
Ajibola explained that the new fare showed a reduction of over
₦223,000 per pilgrim, compared to the previous year's cost.
He added that the intending pilgrims must make an initial
deposit of 50 percent of the Hajj fare on or before the initial announced
deadline of Monday October 6, 2025.
According to him, the timeline remained sacrosanct to enable
the board commence preliminary preparations.
Ajibola said the full payment be completed on or before
December 31, 2025, to secure participation.
