Olubadan-Designate, Oba Ladoja, Finally Arrives Ibadan

The former Governor of Oyo State and the Olubadan designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has finally arrived in Ibadan, the state capital.

The development is expected to put an end to the controversies over the whereabouts of the new Olubadan.

Ladoja’s spokesman, Adeola Oloko, who confirmed the development to newsmen, said Ladoja is currently in Ibadan for the first time since the passing of late Olubadan.

Oloko explained that Ladoja went straight to his Family House in Isale-Osi, in the Ibadan South East Local Government Area of the state.

He added that the olubadan-designate will then proceed to his Ondo street private residence, in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state.

Recall that members of the Olubadan-In-Council had unanimously nominated and approved Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland during their meeting on Monday, April 4, 2025, after 21-day mourning period in honour of the late 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The new Olubadan was not in attendance during the meeting, held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo in Ibadan.

The formal confirmation of his ascension now rests with the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is expected to ratify the council’s decision and set a date for the presentation of the staff of office.
