Ogun NCSU Unit Chairmen Defend State Chairman, Confirm His Leave Was Duly Approved — Suspend Oke and Olaiya as More Suspensions Loom

The leadership of the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) has strongly reaffirmed its support for the State Chairman, Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu, insisting that his annual leave was duly approved by both the State Executive Council (SEC) and the National Secretariat, FCT, Abuja. Speaking on behalf of all Unit Chairmen, Comrade Kayode Zacheus Oloruntoyin, Unit Chairman, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, made it clear that allegations of misconduct against the Chairman are nothing more than propaganda by individuals desperate to seize leadership at all costs.

According to Oloruntoyin, the leave approval process was fully transparent and followed due process:

> “The Chairman’s leave was not an impromptu move. It was duly approved by the SEC — which includes all Unit Chairmen, Unit Secretaries, and Unit Treasurers — and further ratified by our National Secretariat in Abuja. For anyone to question that is simply mischievous. The records are there.”

The Unit Chairmen reaffirmed that Vice Chairman, Comrade Oluwaseun Adedeji Oke, and the Women Committee Chairperson, Comrade Olaiya Omolara, remain suspended indefinitely for poor representation, divisive conduct, and attempts to mislead the public.

> “They remain suspended. And let it be on record that there are other members already under review whose suspension is also in the pipeline. Unionism is not run by propaganda or media noise. If there are issues, you use the internal mechanisms of the union to sustain the integrity of the organization, not reckless public attacks,” Oloruntoyin stressed.

The Unit Chairmen expressed disappointment at the attitude of those trying to exploit the Chairman’s absence for political gain.

> “These are the very people saying they want to lead. But if this is how they intend to run the organization — through lies, blackmail, and propaganda — then Ogun workers must reject them outright. Leadership is about responsibility and integrity, not cheap noise,” Oloruntoyin declared.

The Unit Chairmen further announced that they would formally recommend to the Chairman, upon his return from vacation, to fill the suspended officers’ positions in acting capacity to avoid any leadership vacuum.

> “The suspended officers have lost credibility and cannot return to their former roles. We will advise the Chairman to immediately fill their positions in acting capacity so that the union remains stable and effective. Ogun NCSU is too big to be distracted by a handful of desperate individuals,” he stated.
