Ogun NCSU Crisis: Your Allegations Against Me Malicious, Sanyaolu Fires Frm. Vice Chairman

The Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), Ogun State Council, Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu, has described as false, misleading, and malicious the allegations made against him by the Former Vice Chairman of the Union, Comrade Oke Oluwaseun Adedeji.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta dated Sunday 3rd August, 2025, Comrade Sanyaolu said the allegations of misappropriation of funds, abuse of power, and disenfranchisement of members were baseless and aimed at tarnishing his hard-earned reputation as well as destabilizing the unity and progress of the Union in Ogun State.

According to the Chairman, “It is rather unfortunate that Comrade Oke has chosen to resort to falsehood and sensationalism in an attempt to discredit my leadership. The records of our Union’s financial transactions are open and transparent, and they have been duly audited in accordance with the constitution of the Nigeria Civil Service Union. No fund has been misappropriated under my watch.”

On the issue of the proposed Guest House project, Comrade Sanyaolu clarified that the initiative was duly approved by the appropriate organs of the Union, with the intention to generate sustainable revenue for the benefit of members. “The suggestion of securing a loan was a subject of deliberation among the State Administrative Council (SAC) and not a unilateral decision. It was never a move to mortgage the future of our Union but a strategic plan for long-term development. The project is in the interest of our members and not for any personal gain,” he explained.

Responding to the claims about the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Sanyaolu stressed that due process was followed in organizing the event. “Invitations were sent to all relevant stakeholders in accordance with our constitution. There was no deliberate attempt to disenfranchise any member. The AGM was well attended and decisions reached were in the collective interest of the Union,” he stated.

He further advised members of the Union and the public to disregard the allegations, noting that the Union under his leadership remains focused on its mandate of protecting the rights and welfare of its members.

“This is clearly a case of political distraction within the Union, and I will not allow personal grievances to derail our mission. My leadership will continue to uphold transparency, accountability, and fairness in all our dealings,” Sanyaolu affirmed.

The Chairman expressed his willingness to subject himself to any legitimate probe by the Union’s national leadership or relevant authorities, stressing that he has nothing to hide.

He urged all members to remain calm and united while the Union continues to work for their collective interest. Also advised all members to be rest assured as the issue is already at appropriate place for further investigation.
