Oba Ladoja Sets For First Public Appearance Since Paasing Of Late Olubadan
The Olubadan-Designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, is set to make
the first public appearance since the passing of Late Olubadan of Ibadanland,
Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin.
Since the news broke out, Oba Ladoja, who was out of Ibadan
had not been sighted in the public though he has been receiving visitors in his
Lagos residence.
Oba Ladoja’s non-appearance in public has been generating
controversies as many opined that it may be due to the ill health.
But, Newsreporter gathered that the decision not to appear
in the public by Ladoja is in line with Ibadan traditions of mourning the
passing of Late Oba Olakunlehin.
The source further explained that since the ascension of
Olubadan stool is very clear, there is no reason for Ladoja to rush to Ibadan while
still mourning the passing of the late revered traditional ruler.
According to him, the concept of “AGBOTIKUYO” has erroneously
being taken out of contest, as it only originated in the warfront as Ibadan legend
are known to be warlords.
“Ladoja is hale and hearty, he is currently receiving visitors
in Lagos while mourning the passing of the late Olubadan.
“the passing of any Olubadan is a personal loss for every Ibadan
indigene, so always is Oba Ladoja who is still in the mourning period and he
will not make public appearance until the monarch is buried.
The late Oba Olakunlehin is set to buried on Friday, August
8, 2025.
