Makinde Approves Ladoja's Nomination As New Olubadan, Sets Coronation For Sept. 26
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has approved the
nomination of Oba Rashidi Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Olubadan-designate will be crowned on Friday, September
26, 2025.
Spokesman of Olubadan, Adeola Oloko, who confirmed the
development, said Makinde announced the coronation date during the state
delegation meeting with Ladoja and other members of the Olubadan-In-Council at
his Bodija private residence.
Oloko explained that the ceremony is scheduled to hold at
the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.
It will be recalled that Ladoja had on Tuesday met with the
kingmakers at his residence following his return to Ibadan since the passing of
Late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin.
