Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has approved the nomination of Oba Rashidi Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Olubadan-designate will be crowned on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Spokesman of Olubadan, Adeola Oloko, who confirmed the development, said Makinde announced the coronation date during the state delegation meeting with Ladoja and other members of the Olubadan-In-Council at his Bodija private residence.

Oloko explained that the ceremony is scheduled to hold at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.

It will be recalled that Ladoja had on Tuesday met with the kingmakers at his residence following his return to Ibadan since the passing of Late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin.
