EFCC Raids Obasanjo's Hotel, One Other, Arrests About 150 Suspected Internet Fraudsters

 

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested about 150 suspected Internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo, in Ogun State within a week.

A total of 55 suspects were arrested in Itori near Ewekoro and 93 suspects in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Newsreporter gathered that the anti graft agency in a sting operation stormed the premises of the Green Legacy Hotel, located within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State during the early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2025 and arrested some youths suspected to be internet fraudsters.

EFCC operatives carried out the raid in the early hours of Sunday during a pool party at the premises of the library.

This came barely five days after operatives in a similar operation arrested 55 suspects including a suspected internet fraudster with two locally-made pistols in a raid at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro area of the state.

Items recovered from the suspects including exotic cars, laptops, among others.

The agency, however, said the suspects will be charged to court soon.

Meanwhile, the management of the OOPL has demanded apology from EFCC while considering taking legal action against the commission.
