Ogun NNPP commiserates Kano over Athletes Death
No fewer than 20 athletes who recently represented the state in the just concluded National Sports Festival held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital lost their lives in the accident which occurred within the state.
State's Public Relations Officer of NNPP, Comrade Akinbola Hammed Rotham, in a statement, described the ugly incident as tragic and devastating.
The State NNPP image maker explained that the death of the young and vibrant sports players who had just displayed how promising they were to the country during the events.
He added that the incident occurred when the Athletes were looking forward to reuniting with their families and friends, as well as a warm reception by the state government and their fans.
"We the authentic chapter of the NNPP in Ogun State expressed our condolences to the government and the entire people of Kano State over the tragic incident while we prayed that God will repose the souls of the athletes while granting their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss"
"They had displayed that they were truly heroes with their commitment to Kano State and Nigeria as a whole in the area of sporting activities "
"We want the State Government to immortalize them in order not to allow them to be forgotten.
