Mother, four others in police net over assault on Vice Principal in Ondo

 

A woman, identified as Dorcas Asije is now in police net for allegedly assaulting a Vice Principal of a secondary school in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.

Asije was arrested alongside four others she hired to attac the Vice Principal of Complete Child Development Centre in Akure, Alexander Rotifa a few days ago over the refusal to allow his son, Wisdom Elisha to cheat in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The principal suspect has confronted Rotifa for confiscating her son’s mobile phone while in the examination hall.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said they are currently in custody undergoing interrogation.

Ayanlade explained that the the suspects were apprehended following the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi.

He added that case had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.

“Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) led a tactical team to ensure their swift arrest. The case has been transferred to SCID and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.”

Meanwhile, the state government had earlier vowed to take action over the development, stating that arrangements for the safety of the staff and students of the school for the period of the remaining papers in WASSCE had being made.
