Illegal Caretaker Committee Plans to Arrest LP Leaders, Destabilize Nigeria - Arabambi Alerts NSA, IGP

The National leadership of the Labour Party has alerted the office of the National Security Adviser and the security agencies of the alleged plans by unscrupulous elements to forcefully take over the party's National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to the opposition party, the alleged plans are being coordinated at Area 10 axis of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

National Spokesman of the party, Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, who issued the alert in a statement, said the plans also include the arrest of party national leadership.

Arabambi explained that the plan is part of the moves to destabilize and overthrown the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He added that the plan is being carried out by the unconstitutional and illegal National Caretaker Committee of the party.

According to him, the committee is allegedly planned to use some members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) dressed in Police Uniform.

"There is an ongoing attempt at Area 10 Abuja by the unconstitutional and illegal Labour Party National Caretaker Committee to use some proscribed IPOB members in police uniform to arrest LP National Leadership and forcefully take over LP National Secretariat for political insurrection to destabilize Nigeria and overthrown President Bola Tinubu administration" he said.

Arabambi, however, asked the NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to be on alert to thwart the alleged plans.
