Fire Razes Buildings in Eruwa, destroys Millions Naira Property

A residential building has been razed in a fire outbreak in Eruwa axis of Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The affected facility included a private residential building of six rooms and a Boys quarters during the incident which occurred in the early hours of Monday, at the Ayeyewa Compound, Towobowo Anko in Eruwa.

Though, the cause of the fire incident which destroyed properties worth millions of naira is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.

According to the eyewitness, the fire raged for more than one hour before the arrival of the operatives of the state fire service.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said no life was lost in the fire incident.

“On Monday 19th May, 2025, the agency received the distress call at exactly 03:08hrs. The fire personnel led by ACFS Adegoke swiftly deployed to the scene of the fire incident and on getting there, it was a private residential building of six rooms and a Boyz – Quarters met well alight.

“We quickly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and properties. To our dismay, the fire had been burning for more than an hour before the Fire Service was called.

“No casualty was recorded but properties worth millions were destroyed by the fire”.
