'Jabele' preaches religious tolerance, harmony in Ramadan greetings
Former Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government , Honourable Tunji Omolewu, has tasked Nigerians on peaceful co-existence in order to move the country forward.
According to the Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigerians must see each other as brothers and sisters
Omolewu, in his Ramadan message to Muslim faithfuls, said Islam is a religion of peace and the holy month of Ramadan also signifies that.
The politician popularly known as Jabele, explained while Nigerians must ignore any religious or political leaders preaching hatred instead of love.
He added that the holy month should be used to preach religion tolerance, harmony and unity in the country.
According to him, the government at all levels must ensure that people are treated equally regardless of their political affiliations.
"If we look at the last couple of years, we can observe that all our holy months are being held almost at the same time, indicating we are serving One God" he said.
"It will be unwise for us to allow anyone or anything to divide us along the religious lines instead it supposed to be our pillar of unity and harmony" Jabele added.
"Anyone asking you to kill or do any form of evil to your brothers or sisters because of religion is not only evil but your number one enemy" the politician concluded.
Omolewu, however, asked Nigerians, especially the well meaning and philanthropists to use the period of Ramadan to give to the less privileged in their community.
