Hon Adepoju facilitates State-of-the-art library in Ibarapa
House of Representatives member representing Ibarapa North and Central Federal Constituency, Hon. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has announced the facilitation of a state-of-the-art public library in Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The historic event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, behind National Population Commission (NPC), Igboora.
The facility, according to the Lawmaker, popularly known as Ibarapa Kan, is to promote access to information, support research, preserve cultural heritage and others.
Adepoju, who announced the project in a statement, said the laying of the foundation of the facility will be carried out by Hon. (Miss) Peace Oluwaseyi Oladosu, One-Day House of Reps Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.
The federal lawmaker explained that exercise will be carried out in the presence of significant stakeholders in the educational sector at the federal, state and constituency levels.
He added that the decision is part of our effort to honour Hon. Peace and to motivate teenagers and other students like her in the constituency and to demonstrate the commitment of our administration towards child education.
According to him, the event will also feature distribution of instructional materials to all public secondary school students in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas to promote learning and reduce the burden of the cost of getting the materials by parents.
"The facilitated public library will be well equipped with up-to-date materials and relevant facilities to serve its core purpose of supporting research and innovation, preservation of history in the constituency and beyond, as well as building a cohesive community through social connections and community engagement.
"It is regrettable to learn about the non-availability of public library in our constituency and how difficult access to information and knowledge acquisition by students, researchers and visitors must have been as a result of that in our community", he said.
Adepoju, however, said no fewer than 10 laudable projects are ongoing in the federal constituency while asking the constituents where these projects are located to also perform active community participation by supervising them so that they are completed effectively and efficiently.
